Historically a staple food, chestnuts are rich in carbohydrates and have a mild, sweet flavor, making them versatile for roasting, baking, and even milling into flour. They do best on a well-drained site. We are offering a very diverse collection of chestnuts with european, chinese and japanese chestnut genetics in them. We beleive genetic diversity the best way to ensure a bountiful harvest for backyards, homesteads and hobby farms.
Two or more trees are required for pollination.
Fall of 2026 we have an abundance of very diverse, very large (6 feet tall and larger, see picture with them over my head, Im 6’2”) chestnuts and are offering nice savings for orders with more trees! These are only available for pickup at our nursery in Merville.
Bulk Order savings on the large trees:
One tree is $50
Three for $120 ($40 each)
Five for $150 ($30 each)
10 Large for $200 ($20 each)
The ‘small' trees are a year younger and range in size from just over 3 feet to closer to 1 foot tall. I always start with selling the biggest trees first. For reference see the picture with me and our dog Ruby for scale.
Our inventory/charging system on this website is not sofisticated enough to process this discount, so enter the quantity you want and we will provide the correct pricing once you have checked out (but before you pay).
